【川越】住宿川越王子大飯店，西武鐵道本川越駅進出，小江戶半日遊免買公車週遊券Half-day tour in Kawagoe, The Little Edo, take Seibu Railway to Honkawagoe Station and stay in Kawagoe Prince Hotel, one-day bus pass is not needed
想要從東京到小江戶川越，可搭JR川越線或東武東上線至川越駅，或西武新宿線至本川越。我選擇後者，因為它離老街(一番街)比較近，而且川越王子大飯店就在車站旁。下車順著指標就能到大門。
You can take either JR Kawagoe Line/Tobu Tojo Line to Kawagoe Station or Seibu Railway to HonKawagoe if you want to visit Kawagoe, The Little Edo, from Tokyo. I chose the latter because of the distance to Ichiban Street. In addition, Kawagoe Prince Hotel is beside the station. Follow the direction in the station will easily find the hotel.
好像每家Prince Hotel的Lobby都很寬敞。

房間很老舊，大致維持得還可以。

只有這很不OK：生意太好捨不得整修沒關係，換個沙發椅套總可以吧。
Except this: Why not have the sofa cover changed?
大部份的人會買一日公車週遊券，我本來也這麼打算，但在飯店櫃台幫我辦手續的一位阿伯，一臉不親切的樣子，沒想到接下來的劇情超展開：
伯：你來工作嗎？
我：不，來玩。
伯：觀光嗎？那你有地圖了嗎？
看到我搖頭，阿伯摸出一大張地圖攤開邊比劃著：「這裡是我們飯店，這是一番街起點，距離八百公尺，終點離這裡有一點三公里，所以最好搭公車到最遠的這一站，札の辻，邊逛邊走回來。」
然後阿伯還確認我會唸「札の辻」才繼續說：「飯店門口是我們西武巴士，不是搭這，要走到這裡(畫圈)，搭東武巴士…」
真的不能以貌取人啊。我不但想去老街，還想去更遠一點的冰川神社，按著阿伯說的，我找到東武巴士搭車處，搭到市役所前，車資才一百多日圓，嗶IC卡還有折扣。然後走到冰川神社不過數分鐘，然後沿著老街邊逛邊走回飯店，一點都不累，真的不用花幾百買週遊券。所以我超感謝阿伯的，可惜後來都沒看到他，沒機會道謝，也沒記住他的姓，不然至少可請其他職員轉達。
Thanks to a staff in the hotel, who told me where to take Tobu bus to Hikawa Shrine, and I could walk to Ichiban Street, then to the hotel. Hence a one-day bus pass wasn’t needed at all, and I only spent one hundred something for the bus ticket with IC card discount.
「神」奇的冰川神社值得另寫一篇，一番街大致長這樣，並不長。
It’s worthy to write a single story regarding amazing Hikawa Shrine. This was how Ichiban Street looked. Not very long.
時の鐘是老街代表，到現在還會鳴鐘，擅於融入當地的Starbucks沒缺席。
The most famous site, Tokinokane, the bell tower, still tolled now.
Very localized Starbucks.
連郵局都很融入。
Post office, localized, too.
這家仙貝非常好吃，在別的觀光區也看得到。
Very delicious crispy rice cake, or called “senbei”, also available in other sightseeing spots.
特別找到這家叫やまわ的陶器店，
Found Yamawa, a pottery shop deliberately.
不是為了買餐具，
But dish purchase was not my purpose.
Instead, the cafe inside, Truck, visited by Kiyoshi Hikawa on a TV program nine years ago, was my target.
店內招牌餐是紅薯小懷石，當年清志也是吃這，我沒那麼餓，點了蜜豆和冰淇淋。
I ordered ice cream and azuki bean dessert though here was famous for sweet potato set, since I was not that hungry.
放了很多合照、簽名，似乎很多名人來過，但沒有看到任何與冰川清志相關的紀念品，我不敢問，萬一人家其實不喜歡他，豈不是很尷尬。
I didn’t find anything regarding Kiyoshi Hikawa. But I didn’t ask in case the boss didn’t like him.
本川越駅旁邊即是購物中心西武本川越PePe，有雜貨、無印良品、GU、bakery、書局、超市，超方便。
Seibu Honkawagoe Pepe, a shopping mall located beside Honkawagoe Station, where you can find grocery, Muji, GU, bakery, bookstore and supermarket inside.
在超市看到這個，品客洋芋片有泡麵耶。
Pringles instant noodle! Found in the supermarket!
有西武Emi卡的話務必帶著，所有消費都可以集點。
Don’t forget your Seibu Emi Card to acquire points for all purchase inside.
超市打烊前款了這些當晚餐，看起來有點過份我知道，更過份的是才花我數百日圓。
Got those for dinner before the supermarket closed. Less than 1000 yen for all.
本麒麟真的很好喝，果然是日本啤酒消費量連續衰退十三年後，今年拯救麒麟的明星商品。
Hon Kirin was really delicious, which lifted Kirin’s sales after beer demands decreased for consecutive 13 years.
[飲酒過量傷身更傷財，酒駕不是人]
第二天要去輕井澤，飯店門口就有公車可到JR川越駅。車程只要五分鐘，一百日圓。
Only 5 minutes, 100 yen to JR Kawagoe Station from the bus station in front of the hotel.
It’s not necessary to stay in Kawagoe overnight if you just want to take a half day or one day tour. Just stay in Tokyo. I stayed here for a special purpose.
Seibu Kawagoe Pass, a one day round-trip between Honkawagoe Station and Tokyo, is a very good deal exclusively for foreigners, which only costs you 700 yen.
