En-Musubi Perfect Ticket, a must-have when travelling in Shimane, Japan(4)-松江城、宍道湖畔的傍晚Matsue Castle and evening in Shinjiko (Lake Shinji)
A bus from Sakaiminato via Yuushien will stop in Matsue Castle.
The castle looks tall but hardly seen outside.
I went to neither inside the castle nor other famous spots nearby, and chose an easy way.
Yeah, I took Horikawa Sightseeing Boat.
I think few people will take twice though the ticket is a one day pass.
Though Perfect Ticket enables you to take all buses in Matsue City within 3 days, you can only choose one day to take the lovely Lakeline Bus.
Get your Lakeline one day pass by the left coupon of your Perfect Ticket.
Lakeline Bus starts from JR Matsue Station then around Lake Shinji. Bus lines in the evening will stop in front of Yomega Shima, the best spot to watch sunset. But actually it only takes several minute walk to Yomega Shima from museum. So the evening bus is not a must.
A dozen of rabbit statues outside the museum with unique poses. It is said that your wish will come true by feeding the rabbits clam shells, especially the second one.
Pick the shells on the lake side, plenty of them.
Yomega Shima is the best spot for sunset. But I failed on the three days I stayed. The best I saw was below.
If you come here in September or October, the light-up in Matsue Castel must be a better spot in the evening.
The sunset forecast website is not very precise:
