｜超大湖景房 Large lake-view room

我住這間是邊間，房間不但大，還兩面面湖！ My corner room, huge and two views of Lake Biwa.

到的當天是颱風，琵琶湖面波濤洶湧彷彿海面。

Lake biwa waved as an ocean during typhoon, my arrival day.

隔天放晴，在房內看到有人在湖上玩風帆了。

Sunny, a lot of wind surfers appeared on the next day.

｜湖景溫泉 Lake-view onsen (hot spring)

溫泉也是兩面面湖，也是它最大賣點，大概公家有絕不能被檢出XX桿菌XX弧菌超標的壓力，溫泉水加了消毒劑並循環過濾，所以不適合堅持非100%原汁原味源泉掛流不泡的人。

The natural hot spring bath with two sides of lake view, is the most selling point. Probably the post office cares total plate count a lot, and they add disinfectant and use filter. So here is not for you if you insist the hot spring water must flow directly from source.

備品和一般民營溫泉旅館一樣齊全。

Plenty amenities as  a private-operated onsen resort.

而且可能主力客層是上了年紀的人，竟然還提供生髮劑和用抹的維骨力。

In addition, maybe most of their customers are elderly people, they even offer Rogaine-like scalp tonic and glucosamine cream.

｜完善的會員制度 An excellent loyalty program

公家的會員制度比民營做得還好，有集點有會員限定方案，還有集不同家簡保的戳章換贈品，讓我想要收集更多家了！

The loyalty program is even better than most hotel chains’; point earning, member exclusive packages, stamp collections. All make me want to stay in more of them!

｜插曲－這些公務員太認真 So serious staffs

入住當天碰上讓關西機場史無前例關閉兩週的強烈颱風，雖然前一天我已寫信向旅館確認，接駁車會照常發車，抵達當時還是不安的再打一次電話：

職員：您現在在哪裡？

我：彥根火車站

職員：請您走到…(就平時搭接駁車的地方)，我們現在去接您

就算是颱風天的特別服務，再怎麼樣只能說太感謝，因為車站前連排班計程車都跑光光了，然後颱風雖然雨不大，風卻很強，職員開廂型車來載我，等紅燈時還被吹得搖搖晃晃！

Bumped into a super strong typhoon, which resulted to 2-week shut down of Kansai Airport. I called the resort when arriving, to confirm the shuttle bus though I wrote in advance.

Staff: Where are you now?

I: Hikone railway station

Staff: Please walk to...(regular shuttle bus stop), and we’ll drive to pick you up now.

So thankful even it was typhoon special service cause there was no taxi in front of the station. It was a very windy day, and our van waved when stopping at the traffic light!

｜路癡到達法 Get there as a no-brainer：

搭乘JR東海道本線(琵琶湖線)至彥根駅，出剪票口(在二樓)往東出口走，到一樓找到「近江トラベル事務所」，不要走進去，在門口搭旅館接駁車(免預約，免費)。最新發車時刻請自己看官網。

Take a JR train to Hikone Station (via Tokaido Line/Biwako Line), walk/escalate downstairs to the 1st floor and find “Omi Travel Office”, and a free shuttle bus will wait outside. Check the latest schedule on the official website.
