帝國飯店的鐵板燒「嘉門」我已垂涎多年,時間上卻老是不湊巧,甚至兩年前在此投宿時都錯過了,今年總算一償宿願。
I’ve longed for Kamon Teppanyaki (Open grill specialties) for years when visiting Osaka. But I always missed it, including my stay in the hotel two years ago. Finally I got it this time.

酒單上日本酒、葡萄酒俱足,沒看到特別想喝的就隨便點了杯蜜柑酒。
I chose a glass of orange liqueur as I didn’t find any Japanese wine or grape wine I was interested in.

|晚間套餐 Dinner set
衝著有最愛的松茸,點了秋之味覺套餐。
I ordered an autumn tasting menu due to the matsutake mushroom, my favourite in this season.
與和牛、豆腐等食材做成壽喜燒,才第一道就可以上白飯了其實。
Sukiyaki firstly, including sliced Wagyu beef, matsutake mushroom and tofu. Rice, please!
第二道是煎得香脆的穴子魚佐巴薩米克醋醬汁,但吸引我目光的是一旁的配菜-茄子。綠皮白肉乍看好像絲瓜,但人家真的是茄子來的。
Fried conger eel with balsamic vinegar sauce. But the side dish of eggplant attracted me by its green skin.
平時壽司或天麩羅吃到的穴子魚都是軟的,原來透過鐵板可以煎成脆皮啊。
I always had soft conger eels in a sushi bar or tempura restaurant, and had no idea that the skin would be crispy after well-grilled.
半隻龍蝦。
Half lobster.
主菜和牛牛排可選菲力或沙朗,問了服務生,當天菲力是宮崎牛,沙朗則是北海道來的;我還沒吃過宮崎牛所以選前者。
I could choose either Wagyu filet mignon from Miyazaki, South Kyushu or sirloin from Hokkaido. I decided the former because I had never tried Miyazaki beef.
覺得師傅的技術對這塊肉加了很多很多分。一面吃忍不住想起兩年前在德州達拉斯吃的Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse,在德州吃德州牛真的尚青又好吃,價格只有沒名氣和牛的五分之一吧,但美味程度真的沒差太多。
Obviously, the skillful chef upgraded the beef very very much. That reminded my tasty experience in Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse located in Dallas, Texas. It was really wonderful tasting fresh Texas beef in Texas, and the price was only one fifth or less compared to Wagyu beef in Japan.
上了主菜之後,被問要白飯或是炒飯,只是純粹很久沒吃鐵板燒了所以選炒飯,沒想到有驚喜!師傅用鏟子把飯一壓再煎乾,變成像仙貝的脆片了,第一次看到這樣的手法。
I was surprised by the twisted scrambled rice, as the chef pressed some rice to become a thin sheet, and fried to be as crispy as cookie. I had never seen this before.
餐廳在24樓,但座位區離窗邊有點遠,所以要邊享用美食邊賞景有點勉強。
It’s hard to have your dinner with the great night view although the restaurant is located in the 24th floor, since all seats are a little bit far from the window.
甜點移到門口沙發區吃。

因為主菜太普通,覺得有點對不起從錢包出走的福沢諭吉,但以後還是想試試飯店裡別的餐廳。
題外話,最近應該沒機會去德州出差,有人知道那邊有什麼好玩的嗎?好想再去一次哦。
Probably the “just ordinary” Wagyu steak made me feel it expensive. But I still want to try other restaurants in the hotel next time.
By the way, anyone can suggest me good place for tourists in Texas? I don’t think I’ll have another business trip in near-term, and really want to visit there again!
|路癡到達法 Get there as a no-brainer
搭乘大阪環狀線在櫻之宮下車,從西口出站,過橋往左,河畔最高那棟就是了。飯店提供往返JR大阪站的免費接駁車(時刻表)。
Take Osaka Loop Line to Sakuranomiya Station, and leave from the west exit. Walk across the bridge on the river, turn left and find the highest building on the riverside. The hotel also offers free shuttle bus to/from JR Osaka Station (schedule).
